The Staff Selection Commission has published the result of the Constable (GD) in CAPFs and SSF, and Rifleman (GD) in Assam Rifles Examination, 2026. Its notice is dated 12 October 2026. This isn't the final selection. It's the shortlist for the next round, the Physical Efficiency Test and Physical Standard Test (PET/PST).

Over 21.5 lakh candidates sat the computer-based exam between 27 April and 30 May 2026. From them, SSC has shortlisted 15,782 women and 1,81,251 men for PET/PST against state-wise vacancies, plus a separate shortlist for the Secretariat Security Force.

How to check your result

The result is published as PDF lists on the SSC website:

  • List I: women shortlisted for PET/PST.
  • List II: men shortlisted for PET/PST (other than SSF).
  • List III: results withheld.
  • List IV: debarred candidates.

Open the list that applies to you and search it for your roll number with Ctrl + F (or "Find in page" on a phone). If it's there, you've cleared this stage.

Assam cut-offs

Cut-offs are set state by state and differ between general districts, border districts and militancy-affected districts. For Assam candidates in general-area districts, the cut-offs out of 160 were:

CategoryWomenMen
UR65.7159.87
OBC64.6353.47
SC65.0955.88
ST65.6857.08
EWS49.7240.00

Border-district and militancy-affected-district cut-offs are different, and sometimes lower. The official cut-off notice lists every combination, along with the date of birth of the last candidate shortlisted in each, which is how ties were broken. NCC certificate holders got bonus marks: 8 for a C certificate, 4.8 for B and 3.2 for A.

What happens next: PET and PST

The physical tests are run by the CAPFs, and call letters will come from the nodal force, CRPF, not from SSC. Keep an eye on the CRPF recruitment website for your call letter and schedule. No dates have been announced yet.

The running standards are tough, and the clock is merciless:

  • Men: 5 km in 24 minutes.
  • Women: 1.6 km in 8 minutes 30 seconds.

(Candidates from Ladakh have different standards.) If you haven't been running regularly, start now, and build up gradually rather than trying to run the full distance on day one. The PST checks height and chest (for men) against the notified standards, with relaxations for some communities and regions, including parts of the North East.

Marks and answer keys

SSC says the final answer keys, question papers and every candidate's marks will be put up on its website in due course. You'll be able to see them by logging in.

Wait for your call letter from CRPF. Until then, the best thing you can do is put in the running.
