The Union Public Service Commission declared the written result of the National Defence Academy and Naval Academy Examination (II), 2026 on 9 October. The written exam was held on 13 September. If your roll number is on the list, you're through to the SSB interview. There's one deadline you must not miss before then.

Register on the Army website within two weeks

Qualified candidates have to register on joinindianarmy.nic.in within two weeks of the result. That puts the deadline at about 23 October 2026. Your Selection Centre and interview dates are sent to the email address you register with, so use one you actually check.

If you already registered on the site for an earlier NDA attempt, you don't need to register again. Check that your email address and phone number there are still correct.

How to check the result

  1. Go to the UPSC website and open the results section.
  2. Open the written result PDF for NDA and NA (II), 2026.
  3. Search for your roll number (Ctrl + F on a computer, "Find in page" on a phone).
  4. If it's there, save the PDF and move straight to SSB registration.

The list is in roll-number order. It doesn't show marks or ranks.

When will marks come out?

Not yet. UPSC publishes the marks of all candidates only after the final result, which comes after the SSB interviews and medicals. They then stay online for 30 days.

Getting ready for the SSB

The written exam tests what you know. The SSB tests how you think, decide and work with others, over several days. Most candidates who fail at SSB weren't short of ability. They simply hadn't seen the format before. A few things are worth doing now:

  • Read up on the SSB stages: screening (an intelligence test and a picture perception and discussion test), then psychology tests, group tasks and a personal interview.
  • Practise writing short, honest stories from pictures, and talking calmly about yourself, your family and your choices.
  • Read the newspaper daily. Group discussions and interviews often turn to current affairs.
  • Keep fit. Group tasks are physical, and the medical comes soon after.

Documents for the SSB

Carry original certificates of age and educational qualification to the SSB interview. They're checked there, and you don't send them to UPSC. Usually that means your HSLC certificate for date of birth and your Class 12 marksheet or admit card. Check the instructions that come with your call-up letter for anything else.

The vacancies in this round are for the 158th Course at NDA and the 120th Indian Naval Academy Course. Read the official notification again before your interview. Knowing exactly what you're applying for helps more than people think.
