SSC CGL 2026 Tier-I Admit Card: When It Appears and What to Carry

SSC CGL Tier-I runs from 30 September to 30 October 2026. Your admit card appears two to three days before your own exam date. Here's how to download it and what to take with you.

If you applied for SSC CGL 2026, the Tier-I exam is already running. It started on 30 September and goes on until 30 October, spread across shifts and days, so your date may be a few weeks after a friend's. That's why there's no single "admit card day" this time.

Here's how it works, and what you need to sort out before your shift.

When your admit card appears

The Staff Selection Commission said in its notice of 21 September 2026 that the Admission Certificate will be available two to three days before your own exam date. Not before. If your exam is on 25 October, don't expect to see anything on the 15th.

You can already check your exam city by logging in on the SSC website. Do that now if you haven't. Knowing the city early gives you time to plan travel, especially if you've been allotted a centre away from home.

How to download it

  1. Go to ssc.gov.in and log in with the registration number and password you used to apply.
  2. Open the admit card or Admission Certificate section and pick Combined Graduate Level Examination, 2026 (Tier-I).
  3. Check your exam city and date first. Once the certificate is live, open it.
  4. Read every line: your name, photo, roll number, centre address, date and reporting time.
  5. Download it and print a clear copy.

If anything on it is wrong, contact SSC through the official website straight away. Don't wait until the morning of the exam.

Centres in Assam

Candidates from Assam have been allotted centres in Dibrugarh, Guwahati (Dispur), Jorhat, Silchar and Tezpur. Your admit card will name the exact venue. Some venues are on the edge of town, so look it up on a map the day before.

What to carry on the day

  • The printed Admission Certificate.
  • An original photo ID that shows the same date of birth as your admit card. Aadhaar or e-Aadhaar, voter ID, driving licence, PAN card and passport are all commonly accepted.
  • If your photo ID doesn't show your date of birth, carry an original document that does, such as your HSLC certificate.
  • Recent passport-size colour photographs, as asked for on the certificate.
  • Anything else your Admission Certificate lists. It overrides general advice, including this.

Candidates who couldn't complete Aadhaar-based authentication are expected to report earlier than others, so read the reporting time on your own certificate carefully.

A quick reminder of the Tier-I paper

Tier-I is a computer-based test of four sections: General Intelligence and Reasoning, General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude and English Comprehension. Each section has 25 questions and 50 marks, so the paper is 100 questions for 200 marks, and you get an hour in total. Half a mark is cut for each wrong answer, so guessing blindly costs you.

If you're using a scribe

SSC says candidates bringing their own scribe may need a fresh scribe registration, because older registrations were cleared, and scribe registration is now linked to Aadhaar. The deadline for mapping a scribe for Tier-I was 24 September 2026. If you missed it, contact SSC through the official website right away.

Use the last few days well

By now you know the syllabus. What helps most in the final days is a couple of timed mock tests, a look at your weakest section, and an early night before your shift. The certificate download takes two minutes. Losing your place because of a missing ID takes much less.

The official notices are on the SSC website. Always download your admit card there, never from a link someone forwards to you.
